Description: Work with technical team to review and develop inventions, prepare patent applications, prosecute patent applications and manage outside counsels' preparation and prosecution of patent applications. Provide transactional support for Intellectual Property related agreements, including confidentiality, technology licensing, technical services, and joint development agreements. Responsibilities also include analysis of complex problems, development of creative solutions balancing the business needs and legal risks and briefing upper legal management and client. Representative problems relate to patents asserted against company, asserting company patents and negotiating/drafting intellectual property provisions in technology & technical service licensing transactions. Provide intellectual property legal advice and counsel at various levels of management within an assigned client group. Required skills: The candidate must be admitted to a state bar, the US Patent Bar and have a technical background that is relevant to systems technologies. Requires professional legal mastery in all aspects of intellectual property law including but not limited to legal rights concerning patent, copyright and proprietary information matters. Ability to analyze complex intellectual property problems, develop creative solutions and advise client management. Prepare and prosecute patent applications, draft and negotiate confidentiality agreements, technology and technical service license agreements, and joint development agreements. A J.D. within the top half required. Electrical Engineering or Computer Sciences degree required.
