Description: Responsible for developing, managing and overseeing execution of a comprehensive intellectual property strategy for company?s automotive systems division (ASD). Responsible for conducting and managing a wide variety of patent investigations, including opinion letters, freedom to practice studies, landscape studies, and due diligence investigations. Support ASD in the preparation and negotiation of agreements involving the exchange or creation of intellectual property, including design services agreements, joint development agreements, manufacturing agreements, and non-disclosure agreements. Oversee product marking and intellectual property enforcement programs for ASD. Additionally, responsible for managing outside counsel and/or search firms on various intellectual property. Candidate must be a registered patent attorney with extensive intellectual property experience in patent preparation and prosecution, opinion letters, freedom to practice and landscape studies, and development agreements. Candidate preferably also has significant patent litigation experience. A strong technical background, preferably in electro-mechanics, acoustics, and/or electrical engineering is required. preferably some actual engineering experience is ideal. Candidate must be capable of comprehending technical concepts in a wide range of areas, and must have the ability to extrapolate from simple ideas and synthesize new variations. Strong written and oral communication skills and the highest degree of integrity and ability to maintain proprietary items in confidence is a must. Bachelor's degree in science or electrical engineering. Must be a member of a State Bar in good standing with intent of eventuality and be admitted to the USPTO.
